Nicki Minaj has addressed the cries of ‘sellout’ from some hip hop fans. In an interview with Hot 97, Nicki says that she’s not some puppet pandering to anyone else’s tastes but her own, and that she has a firm grip on where she wants to go career-wise.
“I would hope that people know at this point that I’m smart enough to know what I’m doing all the time. But I guess they still kind of waiver. I always intended on putting out something urban after ‘Starships,’ because I knew ‘Starships’ was a monster,” she explained. “Maybe it would be a problem if I couldn’t deliver records like ‘Roman Reloaded,’ but I can. I write my own lyrics. Once again, I write my own lyrics. So it’s never a problem. Whatever I feel, I can write, I can create it. So I’m good. I think people sometimes get blown away by the magnitude of the pop stuff, because the pop stuff, it reaches everywhere and then I feel like my hip-hop fans or hip-hop culture starts getting a little bit afraid that I’m going to leave. But this is who I am. I’m not going to change – I’m just adding on to my brand. And if you don’t understand that, then it’s probably why you don’t travel and you don’t see the world and I probably can’t even have a conversation with you anymore.”
Damn….So People In The DMV Going Hard Now…First, Flash Mob Robbery in the DMV!
WASHINGTON – D.C. Police detectives are investigating a theft at a Victoria’s Secret store Monday afternoon located inside the Shops at Georgetown Park.
Lt. John Hedgecock said two men and two women entered the store at 2 p.m. and within a matter of seconds, scooped up lingerie and took off on foot.
“We have some information that they may be using some of the social media such as Facebook and Twitter to schedule an event if you will,” Hedgecock said.
Similar incidents have occurred throughout Georgetown and other parts of the city and D.C. Police has officers patrolling retail districts on foot and on segways to be able to respond faster.
CHESTERTOWN, Md.- A man in a “Frosty the Snowman” costume was whisked away in handcuffs Saturday. It sounds outrageous, but that is exactly what happened this weekend at the annual holiday parade in Chestertown.
Police say the man who was dressed as Frosty got a little out of hand. The man behind the mask is 52-year-old Kevin Walsh.
Video of Walsh’s arrest in Kent County, Md. is on Youtube and it is starting to make headlines just about everywhere.
“Snowmen are good they should not be arrested,” said Walsh. He was arrested for assault and disorderly conduct.
He says for the past 10 years he dressed up as Frosty the Snowman for the Chestertown Christmas parade. This year he did not think he would end up in handcuffs in the back of a police car.
“They kept me in the police car for ten minutes while the parade was marching by and everyone was looking at me.”
Walsh says he did nothing wrong.
Chief William Dwyer from the Chestertown police department says “Frosty” did do something wrong. He said Walsh was “agitated” when a dog-handling officer tried to escort him away from the crowd. Walsh allegedly took off the head portion of the “Frosty” costume and hit the officer in the face with it.
“He starting cursing and we asked him to remove the mask. He kicked one of our police dogs which led up to the altercation.”
Chief Dwyer says Walsh has a bad wrap sheet. Documents show Walsh is charged with three assaults and disorderly conduct. He is also banned from the Chestertown Town Hall.
“Anytime he gets a chance to agitate a police officer or anyone in town council he does so,” said Chief Dwyer.
Walsh is invited to next year’s Christmas parade. However, he is expected to have better behavior.
After hosting a joint birthday party with Amare Stoudemire in New York, Fabolous headed to LIV Nightclub in Miami Beach to keep the celebrations going. The Sunday, November 20th affair brought outLil Wayne, Ne-Yo, Kevin Hart, Mack Maine, Jessica White, Stevie J, Mike Gardner, DJ Clue, mega-DJ Cedric Gervais and more.
Sin City opened their arms to Trey Songz this past weekend as he continued his birthday celebration atLavo Nightclub. After posing on the red carpet for photographers, all of the party goers made their way in to the club for an epic night. DJ VICE held down the tables as Trey, NE-YO, Kevin Hart, and more jumped on couches with drinks in their hands. Trey took the mic and gave his love to everyone that came out to celebrate his 27th birthday.
Trey is almost like a family member to the Tainted Monkey crew so anything happening in his career you can always find it here, sometimes maybe first.
Despite the recent releases, Anticipation II and #LemmeHolDatBeat 2, Trey Songz will release another bundle of music on November 29th. This EP is entitled Inevitable. I love the artwork because it pays homage to Trey’s first album. You can pre-order EP here.
